General:
Millennium Aviaries are manufactured using galvanised steel
products and ColourCote® cladding for low maintenance.
Millennium
Aviaries are available in any size and in most shapes.
The aviary plans contain a range of sizes and formats but
is by no means the complete range available. Special
requests for size or shape can be quoted and manufactured.
The
starting price for the aviaries is NZ $1720. We do require
a deposit as specified in Terms
& Conditions.
Kitset:
Millennium Aviaries are supplied in kitset form making them
economical to freight to any destination and fully relocatable
and extendable at any time. Aviary complex layout can
also be easily changed if necessary.
The
aviary complex individual panels come complete ready for use
- the only installation required is fixing them in place.
Rivets are supplied for this purpose with standard orders.
All
Kitset aviaries come with easy to follow instructions or you
can use our assembly service as indicated in Terms
& Conditions.
Height:
The standard height of the kitset aviaries is 1910mm (approx.
64) unless otherwise stated. However, as with all
dimensions, this can be changed.
Mesh
Options: Two
mesh types are available with Millennium Aviaries.
- 12.5mm
x 12.5mm x 18 gauge (½" x ½") square welded
mesh. This is the mesh fitted to most modern aviaries
and has a galvanised finish as supplied from the manufacturer.
This mesh is suitable for housing most birds but is not
recommended for use with parrots that have beak power much
greater than Indian Ringnecks.
- Our
aviaries are also available in a heavy mesh option.
This mesh is welded from 3.15mm wire to make 50mm x 25mm
holes. The heavy mesh is welded to the panel frame
and the completed unit is hot dip galvanised prior to the
addition of any cladding. This heavy mesh is suitable
for housing all parrots with the added bonus of keeping
out sparrows and other wild birds.
Note:
The heavy mesh can be supplied in 3.2mm wire although this is
rarely used and can prove expensive.
Solid
Sections: Millennium
Aviaries come complete with a solid shelter section for the
protection of your birds. The standard cladding on all
solid walls is ColourCote® ZR8 flat roofing which is
available in a range of colours (see
colour chart). Shelter roof sections are covered
with Galvanised sheet.
The ColourCote®
under normal well washed conditions of exposure can be expected
to last approximately 10 - 15 years. In most cases,
it is recommended to remove airborne or other contaminates
by water blasting or washing with a soft nylon brush at least
every 6 months or more frequently in severe environments.
Doors:
Millennium Aviaries have five separate door designs as illustrated
below. The small door is recommended for aviaries without
safety areas with the ¾ door being very practical for
aviaries containing quails. Your new aviary will be
supplied with either full or small doors depending on the
design you have requested, but these may be changed to one
of the other designs at your request.
Walkways:
These are available on multiflight aviaries and are normally
915mm (3) wide on the back of aviaries. They can also
be built in mesh on the front and can be modified to become
storage areas or complete rooms (see
plan 14).
Floors:
The plans and prices are based on open frame floors suitable
for placing on an area of concrete, tile, brick or some other
artificial surface. If you wish to place your aviary
on bare ground or the lawn, mesh can be added to the base
at an additional cost if requested.
Individual
Panels: Due
to their kitset design, Millennium Aviaries extensive range
of individual panels can be sold separately for extensions
and design changes at any time.
Catteries:
Millennium Aviaries can be used for breeding catteries and
we recommend having extra insulation placed in the roof and
solid panels along with adequate ventilation to help with
temperature control of the environment. Due to the nature
of cat effluent, the life expectancy of the complex may be
shortened.
Freight
& Packaging:
Freight and packaging are additional to the cost of the aviary
with Mainfreight being used to forward your newly purchased
aviary to you. We package the aviary on a pallet with
corrugated card on the outside to help prevent damage, which
is a rare occurrence.
Once
your aviary is completed and full payment has been received,
your aviary will arrive at your home within 2 days in the
North Island and 4 days in the South Island. Saturday
delivery can be arranged in most main centres at an additional
